Happy Fall

Hello everyone! Sorry I have been horrible in keeping up with my blog.
Since I've been home from school not too many exciting things have been happening really. I was home for about 2 weeks before I came back up to Utah to work in Provo. This year I am living at my amazing cousin Julie's house in Thanksgiving Point. Before I came here I lost about 8-10 pounds!! I'm working on losing more and if I've been counting correctly, I've lost in total about 15 pounds! I've been slacking lately so I bet I've gained a lot of it back, but I've got 2 more months till it really counts :) My man comes home a week before Christmas and I want to look hmm...goooooood :)

Anyways, my best friend from Utah is engaged to be married in the SLC Temple December 1st to the man of her dreams, let me tell ya I'm uber jealous! I've seen a lot of my friends and family from Utah in the almost 2 months I've been here and it's been great!! My family has a cabin in Park City and it is sooooo gorgeous! I'll get pictures of my latest adventures up here soon I promise!

OH! I went to General Conference with my friends from school Kylie(kyle williams), Jordan Johnson, and Andrew Peterson. Words cannot even begin to describe the spirit in that conference center!! I love the prophet and his counselors sooo much! I would be oh so lost without them!

I've been getting really excited to be back up at school though!! I've been missing my family a lot lately as well. My Dad took a job in Dallas when I was getting out of school becuase he just wasn't in love with his job in Denver. Career path wise, this job is IT! He is feeling it out currently, and if truly is the dream job our family will move back to Dallas next June. If not we'll stay in CO. My brother Andrew went with him and is a SR at SGP, in the marching band, and dating the CUTEST girl ever Mattie Jay Parr! :) I miss them so much, I feel like I'm missing out in my families lives because I am so far away. My mom and Evan are still in CO though, my dad flies home every other weekend to see them so its not AS bad...but it still sucks. I am not afraid however, the Lord always provides a way and maybe this job/move would be great for my family..maybe it's not meant to be. Either way I know we'll be just fine.

Life is good, I've been reading my scriptures more, I'm saving up my money for school....and patiently waiting for the man with the black name tag to return safe and sound. <3
I'll post again soon and hopefully with some pictures! I love you all.

Peek A Buddha

Good Afternoon Sunshine! Today was quite warm in Rexburg...I LOVED it! :) In case you were wondering as to what the significance/purpose of my post title was for today-there isn't one! I just found it hilarious..so I used it. I love hearing funny things and laughing, its one of my favorite things to do. Laugh, Smile, Eat, REPEAT! :)
So I didn't get a few videos uploaded to my last post because I had already did a few and it wouldn't let me do any more, so those will be up as soon as I can get them up!!

So not much has happened between yesterday and today. But something I have learned today is that just because my alarm clock is on the opposite side of the room..does not mean that I will get up hahaha! I hit the snooze button a record amount of 10 times this morning..but still made it to class on time, and looking good so was it worth it to sleep in an extra half hour? HECK YES! :)
Yesterday in my CIT class we were assigned another huge assignment that is due next week on Tuesday that is the exact same thing we did a week ago but with TWO different things and not just one so my social life this weekend will be non-existent. I started working on it last night and my whole weekend mapped out with what I will do each day to get it done on time, but I hit a road block at about 3 this afternoon. Nobody in my class has answered my help wanted emails and my teacher doesn't check email after 2 so I have been doing the best I can! I only have 2 1/2 more weeks left in this semester and all of my finals are on the same day so thats a blessing in itself but it's going to be way stressful.
Today in my New Testament class we talked about different trials we have been through and different people who have helped us through a tough time and then brought it back to the Savior. He is the ultimate help and saving grace. He can get us through ANYTHING and has been where we stand when He suffered the atonement TWICE(once in the garden and again on the cross). I think we take it for granted sometimes all the things He has done for us and what He suffered for us. He knows us individually and He knows the intentions and desires of our hearts. He wants us to be happy and to be able to return to Him someday. How grateful I am for Him and His atoning sacrifice He went through for my sins and for the redemption of my soul. It is because of Him that I will be able to see my family again in the life to come in heaven. "The Lord is my shepherd, no want shall I know." -Psalms 23
Sooner than later will be the day that I will look upon His face, and feel the marks in His hands and feet; & I will not know any better then than I do now that He lives..and that He is my Savior. I know that my Redeemer Lives.

...or Wink

So yesterday at the spanish stadium singing i was standing in the circle with my hymn book in hand right after the opening prayer when I got a little muscle spasm in my eyelid. I looked up only to see that a guy standing across the circle from me was smiling at me trying to be cute and whatnot. After a few seconds in donned on me that my muscle spasm made me look like I was winking..the poor boy thought I was flirting with him! :/ He made no delay in walking over to ask if he could share my hymn book with me. Although it was a fun night and the spirit there was just as strong as ever, it takes the cake for most awkward night of my college career thus far! Oh how I love singing in spanish! I can't speak fluently..even though I took 3 years of it AND my dad spoke it on his mission(cough cough) but hearing people speak it and singing in spanish brings a spirit different from any other. I love the english stadium singing but I just adore the feeling I get after I go and sing praises in another language, it is beautiful!! It makes my week just that much better when I go. It's like seminary...even though you dreaded getting out of bed that early in the morning, the days you go to seminary just seemed to turn out better than those that you didn't. My week is BETTER when I sing! :)

Anyways to the GOOD stuff..I promised pictures from this semester..which I have not done yet sorry! I have so many pictures it's insane, but then again I am my mothers daughter!! Here are some of my shining moments of this semester thus far. There are a lot because I couldn't just pick a couple!! :)

Don't Blink

Ok so since my last entry quite a lot has happened!! Well first off, HAPPY 4th OF JULY my fellow Americans!! Today is going to be a beautiful day.

The past two weeks have been really stressful for me here at school with an overload of homework, projects and trying to write 2 talks in one single week!! On the 20th I was asked to give a talk in sacrament on the 27th, except for I was the one doing the asking for the talk. I haven't given a talk in sacrament meeting in about a year maybe longer, and I was starting to get that feeling you get in the pit of your stomach during fast and testimony meeting to get up to the pulpit...except to give a talk. I just HAD to! I should have last semester, but I was ignoring the feeling and it was my first semester so I made myself believe I was to busy to give a talk. But I am so very glad that I did ask for the talk!! I needed it so much it's not even funny! I love giving talks in sacrament or in class because it's an opportunity to learn about the subject while teaching others. But anyways...

So for the next week after I got the assignment for the following Sunday, I was busy writing a talk for Sacrament(Freedom Through Righteousness) and one for my New Testament class(Foreordination). It was on the extreme end of the hectic scale that week to say the very least with the talks and a bunch of codes and programming I was doing for my CIT class, but the weekend brought smiles and good times with friends!! My best friend from last semester Jim Craig(Clay Lingard) came up for the weekend to visit me and some of his other friends. It was so amazing to be able to see him again, I had needed it so much!! We originally met in math class last semester and realized that we were in the same science class as well. He was always there for me just to listen but to also make me smile and laugh whenever I needed it just as a best friend should. It was the best feeling in the world to hear his cooky laugh and see his face again! On the 25th we went to Toy Story 3, Bajios, and then went to Porter Park and watched/listened the thunder storm under a pavilion with some other couples of friends-one of the most relaxing feelings in the world. A moment when your heart can stop and say-AH! That Saturday I didn't see him but I did hang out with my roommates and some others. Over all just a great weekend!! On Sunday I gave my talk, and Jim Craig came to listen to me..bum kept making faces at me! :) Then later that afternoon we played games with some people in my ward and had dinner, made brownies, and went to stadium singing together..and reluctantly, I gave him back his hymn book. One of the best weekends I have ever had in my short college career bar none! Never neglect your friends and loved ones brothers and sisters, they are all you have sometimes.

This past week I have been working on a big project for my CIT class again, but with little spurts of fun during the week I made it out alive!! We had a fun FHE getting snow cones with a great lesson, played baseball in the hallway at the guys apartment complex, ran through the sprinklers, a 5 hour band rehearsal, 3 concerts, a friends birthday, my FHE brothers play for theater, a trip to Idaho Falls for the BEST fireworks show I have ever seen, and laughing with friends. Me, Rose Tyler, and Bon Qui Qui have rented a total of 10 movies from horkleys this weekend..and have watched 7 of them so far! :) Oh how I love lazy 3 day weekends. I have yet gone to the grocery store in over a week-I should probably get on that soon!!

I have been so very blessed with the life I have been given! When push comes to shove, show them what you're made of! Take the high road and acknowledge your own faults before you judge someone else should you choose to do so. Love your neighbor as yourself, and praise the Lord your God and none else. CTR!

My name is J-Dizzle and whatever you do-DON'T BLINK!

Ok guys...here are some pictures from last semester, I will put up pictures from this semester as it goes on. I can't put all of them up because this post would be a mile and a half long!
Anyways, tomorrow we have a "Relief Society Meeting" as Sister Beck now calls them at the nature park in town with our blessings and lunch, so it should be fun! Later tomorrow night is the David Archuleta concert so I'm getting pumped up about that as well! I swear I have seen and been to more concerts since I have been at school than I have before combined!
Now the good stuff..hope you enjoy them! I am going to try and get a music player up so my blog isn't so boring. Hope everyone has a great day! Peace and love, CTR!

Everybody Loves Spring!

Everybody loves spring don't they?? Even though it's more like winter and rainy/snowy weather here in Rexburg, I absolutely LOVE it and wouldn't trade any minute of it!
I have been quite bad in keeping up with my blog, but I am proud to say that I have been keeping up my spiritual thought journal, and will be needing a new book soon! I am going to do my best at writing on the blog as often as I can! I spend all this time on the computer anyways, so why not take a few minutes and write on my blog right?
Well anyways, not sure when the last time I wrote on here was but today is June 17th, 2010 and I have 5 weeks left of my freshman year of college! WOO HOO!! :) It seems like yesterday I was in high school, or heck even elementary school looking up to the 5th graders...but now its college at BYU I-and I look up to the RM's and married couples. :)
I moved out of the dorms [hallelujah chorus] and moved to the other side of campus to an apartment complex across the street from the stadium. This ward is amazing and I absolutely love the people in it!! My new roommates are Lindsey, Jenny, Sarah, and Chelsea and Diana who roomed with me last semester. We have so much fun together, and even though we have our differences we love each other! We are constantly watching chick flicks, the food network, TLC, or HGTV. I have done more fun things in the first month of this semester than I did last semester all together. I have been to the ice caves, parties, awesome ward activities, FHE's that rock the house, some amazing roommate adventures, and some other awesome stuff! We are a 5minute walk from the cheap theater which is fun, but dangerous!! We enjoy making silly plays and whatnot for late night weekend fun..and the weeknights too! We joke around and laugh all the time! I got to see Ryan Shupe and the Rubberband, and I am seeing David Archuleta on Saturday!! BYU Idaho is the best thing that ever happened to me aside from coming to this earth and sharing my life with the family I was blessed with! I have gained life long friendships, and have learned in different ways than I ever have before. How awesome is it to bring the gospel into a math or science class? My grades are great so far! I LOVE IT HERE! Although I do miss my family and friends back in Colorado and Texas dearly, I am finding myself here at school, and starting my life!
I still enjoy receiving letters from a missionary in California just about every week and supporting him! He is my best friend, and such a great example to me!
I will put up another post tomorrow or Saturday hopefully with pictures to document my experiences so far this semester! I miss and love you all! Remember that Christ loves you and CTR!!

10 January, 2010

Hello all!!
Things are going great here in Rexburg!! My roommates are great and my classes have been some what easy so far, so I am keeping my fingers crossed!! :)
I haven't taken too many pictures since I have been here because my camera got sent home with my mom when my parents left. I do have some pictures of my car on our way to BYU-Idaho though! We had to completely take out the back seat in our expedition to fit all of my things!! Crazy huh?!It has been reallllllly cold lately, it was -18 or something weird like that the other day walking to classes, but I have been bundling up and have been doing ok so far.
I am amazed at how kind and CUTE this LDS young men are!! I have not met a bad guy since I have been here, and I am making a few new friends every day. I love seeing a picture of Christ in EVERY classroom on campus and having class prayer before we start our lessons!! I have been learning well since I started here, and I know without a doubt on my mind that it is due to the spirit being so strong here on campus, and being able to teach with the spirit and not just academically like in high school!!
Check back for more pictures soon!! Thanks for all the love and good wishes, I really do appreciate it! :)
